The Makita 18V X2 LXT® (36V) Brushless 14" Cut-Off Saw (XWL01Z) is a cordless metal-cutting solution ideal for light gauge metal stud and strut, pipe, all thread, conduit, tubing, rebar, and more. The BL™ Brushless Motor eliminates carbon brushes so it runs cooler and more efficiently for longer life. The Saw is powered by two 18V LXT batteries (sold separately) for maximum cordless performance, and delivers 3,800 RPM for the most demanding metal cutting applications. It will cut up to 5" round and 4" x 7-5/8" rectangular tubing. It also features a “tool-less" fence and vise controls for increased productivity, and a large spark guard engineered to capture and deflect debris away from the surrounding area. Additional features include an electric break, a large ergonomic handle and two-stage lock-off power button. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V Lithium-Ion system, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18V Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls™.
